Laura Tinsley is the proud Principal of Early Learning for the Birmingham Public Schools. Laura began her career teaching kindergarten after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State University. Further developing her love of teaching young children, she earned a Master’s degree from Oakland University in Early Childhood Education. She began leading the talented team at the BPS Early Childhood Center in 2011 and earned an Administrative Certificate from Michigan State University. In addition to being the building principal of BPS ECC, she oversees all of the excellent Early Learning programs in the BPS school district. Laura and her family have lived in Beverly Hills, since 1994.

She is a proud mom of three BPS graduates, who attended Beverly, Berkshire and Groves! She has been active on several district committees including Education Council, Strategic Planning, BEF Advisory Board, PTA, and she and her family are actively involved with the Metro Detroit Youth Clubs. Personally, Laura enjoys spending time with her family, is a forever Spartan at heart and loves a good dance party!
